As at 29 October 2026 the public register lists 4,876 coal, minerals and gemstones environmental authorities on current tenures: 441 coal, 2,923 minerals, 1,510 gemstones and 2 unclassified. 991 sit on a mining lease; most of the rest are for exploration or mining claims. 482 have been granted but are not yet in effect, and 102 are suspended, cancelled or surrendered.

How many PRC plans have been approved?

157 coal and minerals PRC plans are approved (82 coal, 75 minerals). 140 of 991 mining lease authorities hold a plan.
